Kugel (sweet noodle pudding)

If you like noodles, cheese, and comfort food then this is what you’ve been missing (but didn’t know it yet.). This is a pudding served during Jewish Holiday meals, but you don’t need to be Jewish to make it, or eat it.  Wherever you’re from, and whatever Holiday you celebrate, you will enjoy this just the same.  It’s sweet, easy to make, and simply delicious hot or cold. You can cut the recipe in half if you are making it for a smaller crowd.

Sweet Noodle Pudding (LukshenKugel)

Serves: 12-14 Cooking Time: 1hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Egg Noodles
  • 2 cups Sour Cream
  • 1 lb Cottage Cheese
  • 1 lb Cream Cheese
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Golden Raisins (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325F and butter a 13x9in baking pan

Bring 6qts of water to a rolling boil, add the egg noodles and cook until tender

In a large bowl stir together the rest of the ingredients.

Drain the noodles and add to the cheese mixture

Pour it all into the baking pan

Bake for 1 1/2 hours

Cool and enjoy!

I love sweet kugel and all its varieties, but the one with cheese/raisins is my favorite. So good! 🙂
